2008 Wrattonbully Merlot
Previous vintages of our Merlot have been sourced from Mudgee and Orange in NSW. This is the first from the Wrattonbully area of SA and has spent 15 months in a mix of French and American oak Barriques.
Dark red in colour with an intense Cherry Ripe bouquet it also shows a hint of black olive, leather and rich earthiness. A full bodied wine bursting with captivating ripe mulberry/cherry and dark chocolate flavours. Backed by a rich savoury palate structure and soft tannins, it will win over any dinner party guest.
A wine that is drinking well now or will certainly benefit from another 5 years resting in a good cellar.
