2008 Hunter Valley Chambourcin
The 2008 vintage is another deep purple hued wine from this fascinating variety and the second crop from our own vineyard. By carefully thinning out the bunches during the ripening season, we were rewarded with excellent uniform berries, fruit flavours and colour. Believing this wine to be one of the best examples of Chambourcin we have made, we decided to minimise oak influence, keeping 80% of the volume in stainless steel. Spicy, dried fruit and Christmas pudding like characters are most apparent, the tannin levels low and the flavours lingering and fresh. Enjoy it chilled over the summer season.
