2007 Ceilidh Shiraz
From the Gaelic for a gathering, a get together or a party, which is often accompanied by singing, dancing and music, comes our Ceilidh Shiraz. Fruit parcels from vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Hunter Valley have been combined in this rich full bodied style. Matured in predominantly American oak barriques for 18 months before final blending, it received minimal fining and filtration before bottling.
The 2007 vintage was recognised as excellent in the two areas from which the components of this red wine were selected. Combining the savoury style typical of the Hunter and the round fleshy richness of McLaren Vale, ensures a wine with the traditional intensity of aroma and flavour that makes Aussie Shiraz recognized around the world. With full bodied new oak lift, a fruity and savoury rich palate structure and chewy but balanced tannins it will continue to round out, soften and reward those who rest it in a cellar for a couple of years at least. 65% Hunter Valley, 35% McLaren Vale.

Savoury nose, quite olive like in character and with an interesting smokiness. Lovely fruit weight and richness on the palate with well managed oak- says Winestate magazine and rates 4 stars
