Young Winemaker of the Year 2005

Daniel Binet, assistant winemaker at Capercaillie was nominated as one of the finalists in the 2005 Australian Young Winemaker of the Year Awards. The award, now in its fifth year, is staged by the Wine Society and is open to Australian winemakers aged 30 and younger. Chief winemaker, Alasdair Sutherland, congratulates Daniel on his excellent achievement and believes that the award is a testimonial to his hard work and dedication at Capercaillie.



Champion of Champions 2005

For the 4th consecutive year Capercaillie Wine Company has been awarded the trophy as winner of the Tourism Category at the NSW Champion of Champions Small Business Awards. When the Champions' judging panel evaluate each entrant, they look at all aspects of the business including its success, standing in the community, approach to staff and support of local community organisations and initiatives. It's not always about money. 'There are many small business owners who will never be millionaires but whose contribution is invaluable' said Steve Loe, Managing Director of awards presenters, Precedent Productions.
